Ajax technical director Martin van Geel has not ruled out Edgar Davids staying at the Amsterdam Arena next season.

The veteran midfielder broke his leg in a pre-season friendly against Go Ahead Eagles and revealed last weekend that he felt "everything was at an end" but van Geel insists nothing has been decided yet and added he would meet with Davids this week to speak about his future.

He told De Volkskrant newspaper: "I have an appointment with Davids and then we will quietly look at the hows and whys. I do not want to think ahead about the state of affairs."
