Manchester City began their latest Premier League campaign in some style when they defeated West Brom away by 3-0 in a convincing manner.
The win was followed by an emphatic victory over reigning league champions Chelsea, where Jose Mourinho's side was simply outclassed in every department of the game.
City in for dominance?
It might be too early to write off Chelsea's hopes of retaining their title but it surely has made the Etihad outfit the team to be feared in the Premier League. After all, they blasted three goals against a side that had the best defensive record last season.

Manuel Pellegrini seems to have been successful in motivating his players. The team is more hungry and playing with an attacking philosophy.
Raheem Sterling, their new recruit, has settled comfortably into the team and was given starts in both of their opening games. Although he has not found the back of the net, Sterling has linked up well with his new team mates, giving the team more attacking options up front.
In the clash against Chelsea, he gave Branislav Ivanovic a torrid time. The signs of improvement indicate that Sterling will soon find top gear; when he does, we can expect to see a City side firing all cylinders.
Defence back to business
Captain Vincent Kompany, meanwhile, has put the ghosts of last season behind him and began the new one in spectacular fashion. Two goals in two games speaks for itself. Besides, he is also defending superbly at the moment.
Elaquim Mangala is also well complementing Kompany with Aleksander Kolarov and Bacary Sagna too performing well. Pablo Zabaleta, their first choice right-back is yet to feature for them as well. That's without taking into account the fact that Nicolas Otamendi penned a deal yesterday, and he'll no doubt make the defence stronger.
Moving forward David Silva has given breathtaking displays in the opening two games. His sublime ability on the ball is without doubt a treat to watch, but a nightmare for opposition defenders. The Spaniard managed to find gaps in defence perfectly during the matches and tore opponents apart with accurate passes.
He seems to be more confident with the ball at his feet. Right now, he is the go-to-man for City. Yaya Toure, too has rediscovered himself. He, along with Fernandinho, has pulled the midfield strings for City quite well in the matches.
However, the Ivorian is in the wrong side of 30 and City must sign another player in this department if they are to mount a serious title challenge. Samir Nasri and Fernando have not been awarded much game time. It remains to be seen whether either of them matches the level of performance that their team is playing with.
Kevin De Bruyne is another player linked constantly with club. If City manage to secure his services, then it will be another quality attacking addition to their squad.
Sergio Aguero has proved time and again why he is the best striker in the Premier League. The Argentine was given his first full start against the London outfit and displayed a man of the match performance.
He tormented and bullied their defence during the entire course of the game. If not for Asmir Begovic's saves, Aguero could have had a hat-trick in the first half itself. On top of that City have an able deputy of Aguero in Wilfred Bony.
So far the Ivorian has not registered a goal, but he impressed in the West Brom match, where he assisted Toure's goal. City have let Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic depart for other clubs and it is up to Pellegrini now on whether a new back up striker should be signed.
Last but not the least, their goalkeeper Joe Hart is doing well between the sticks. He had a relatively easier time than his teammates as his side dominated the opposition in both the matches.
But he made some good saves when called into action. In particular, his stop to a Eden Hazard shot proved decisive, as City went on to score the killer second goal after that. His inspired form will be vital for the team's success.
The entire City squad is showing a lot of promise. They have experienced campaigners whom know how to bounce back and at the moment are playing some beautiful football. If they manage to carry this form to the end of the season, they might prove to be the team to beat this term.
