Neymar is not leaving Barcelona for Manchester United, agent confirms

Football News

Neymar’s agent, Wagner Ribeiro, has looked to quickly quell any talk of the Barcelona superstar potentially joining Manchester United this summer, claiming that ‘there is nothing’ in the rumours.

It was The Sun who looked to surprise all football fans this morning with an incredible claim - shock horror - that United were attempting to negotiate a deal for Neymar after losing out on signing his former teammate Pedro.

No deal on

Naturally even the most positive responses to the talk were riddled with scepticism, and unsurprisingly the player’s chief representative has crushed United dreams by categorically telling sources - as relayed by Sky Sports - that a deal is not happening.

"There is nothing. He has three years left on his contract," Ribeiro said.

"The British newspapers are very speculative. Barcelona have never thought of selling Neymar and he is very happy there."

Ridiculous idea

Given that Louis van Gaal has an incredible financial backing and the power of reputation that United as a club hold, there’s very few deals in world football that are completely off the cards for him. Neymar from Barcelona, it would seem, is one of them.

The young Brazilian has become the poster-boy of the Nou Camp along with Lionel Messi, and there’s no amount of money in the world that can make up for the potential the Catalans would lose were he to leave them for England.

The poster-boy

Indeed last season he formed a lethal triumvirate alongside Messi and Suarez, and in years to come it’s expected that he’ll be challenging for the crown Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi annually share, the title of the world’s best player.

So, a ridiculous rumour and a swift end. We’re happy to put this one to bed.
