Bayley defeated Sasha Banks to claim her first NXT Women’s Championship in front of over 15,000 people at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn.

Bayley the Champ

A second Bayley to Belly after a top rope reverse Bayleycanrana saw the 26-year-old finally win her first title in NXT.

The match, heralded as the best of the night was an emotionally charged affair, evidenced by the appearances of Charlotte & Becky Lynch to celebrate post-match.

A tearful Banks embraced Bayley and the other two women, breaking kayfabe the night before Charlotte, Lynch and Banks will be against eachother at Summerslam, in a scene reminiscent of the 1996 MSG Curtain Call incident.

Balor Retains

In the main event, Finn Balor retained his NXT Championship over Kevin Owens following a Coup de Grâce from the top of a ladder.

It wasn’t as good as their match at Beast in the East however, still a worthy main event which caused the show to overrun by 20 minutes and didn’t quite feel as hyped as the women’s match that came directly before it.

The Vaudevillains captured their first NXT Tag Team Championships in the second match of the night against Blake & Murphy in another exciting tag team match which put over the bright futures of all four in the ring.

The challengers would bring out Blue Pants as their retort to Blake & Murphy’s valet Alexa Bliss who had been a thorn in the Vaudevillains’ side in the last few weeks. With Bliss’ effect neutralised, Gotch and English were finally able to beat the tag champions in a fair matchup.

Earlier in the night, Japanese legend Jushin Liger defeated Tyler Breeze, Samoa Joe choked out Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews won his debut match against Tye Dillinger.

Crews Debut

Crews showed he’ll be more than capable of replacing stars like Neville & Owens who have moved to the main roster, as well as the currently injured Hideo Itami & Sami Zayn debuting an exciting, diverse offence of power moves and athletic manoeuvres. A standing enziguri and his finisher a standing moonsault the standouts in his short match.

Before the WWE Network Special, WWE COO Triple H announced NXT will have their first UK tour in December 2015.
