Football News
Catania have asked the Italian Football League to open an investigation into why Internazionale defender Marco Materazzi played in last weekend´s Serie A encounter between the sides.

Materazzi was ruled out for last week´s international friendly between Italy and Portugal through a back injury but he played four days later in his team´s 2-0 triumph at Catania.

A statement from Lega Calcio on Tuesday confirmed they had received a complaint from Catania. It read: "The sporting judge Gianpaolo Tosel acknowledges the claim but will not take a decision until he has received all the relevant information."
