Villarreal winger Robert Pires believes he has played his last game for France after once again being left out of Raymond Domenech´s squad.

The former Arsenal man has not been called on by Domenech since publicly criticising the France boss after Euro 2004. But many thought the 34-year-old´s form this season would see him recalled into an enlarged 36-man France squad for next week´s friendly double-header against DR Congo and Spain.

"I haven´t been selected, does that astonish you? Not me," Pires told French sports daily L´Equipe. "At the age of 34, you understand things. My last chance evaporated three years ago, after that clash - in speechmarks - that I had with the coach. I said what I thought. He didn´t appreciate it."
