Morgan Schneiderlin has revealed the process Louis van Gaal went through in order to bring him to Manchester United from Southampton this summer.
The France international told France Football - and brought to our attention by the Express - that he was on holiday with his partner and friends when his agent informed him Van Gaal wanted to speak on the phone.
Schneiderlin, keen to hold talks with the revered Manchester United manager, was later delighted when Van Gaal sent him a text message to say he was about to call.

"I was on vacation with my girlfriend and my friends," the 25-year-old revealed. "My agent called me to warn me that Louis van Gaal will call me. I kept my phone with me all day.
"Louis van Gaal sent me a text message to see if he can call me in the afternoon. I answer him that he can call me whenever he wants. He spoke honestly frank."
Schneiderlin is performing well for United
Manchester United agreed to pay an initial £24 million for Schneiderlin - although the total fee could eventually rise to £27 million - who has enjoyed a positive start to his Old Trafford career.
The former Southampton star has played the full 90 minutes in all four of Manchester United’s competitive matches so far this season and has not looked out of place alongside the likes of Wayne Rooney, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Michael Carrick.
United have yet to concede a single goal in the Premier League so far this term, and one of the reasons for that is the protection Schneiderlin offers Manchester United’s back four.
