Is Rey Mysterio returning to the WWE?

Football News

Rey Mysterio left the WWE about six months ago, after years out with injury trouble and a complete lack of direction.

Since leaving the company, Mysterio has been healthier than ever thanks to working a part-time schedule that limits his ring time and travelling, whilst still drawing in huge crowds working with AAA in Mexico.

However, it seems that Mysterio could potentially be looking for a shock return to the WWE.

In Talks?

Earlier this week, we reported that Mysterio had reportedly sent out feelers and inquiries regarding a possible return to the place he called home for 13 years.

According to a new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, here via Wrestling Inc, Mysterio has actually been in talks with the WWE, although they have been categorized as "insignificant".

Mysterio doesn't know quite what he will be doing in the future. Mysterio was expected to sign a nice deal with Lucha Underground and still be able to work indies but with Lucha Underground's future up in the air, his whole situation has changed.

Rey In NXT

If Mysterio was to return, it would be nice to see him spend some time in NXT, helping to develop some of the younger talents and put them over.

We all know that he is a big star and would receive a good reception from Raw crowds, but putting him in a month-long feud for the NXT title would be incredible to see and a sure-fire four-star or higher performance from the 619 Superstar.
