Frings: Bastian welcome at Bremen

Werder Bremen midfielder Torsten Frings claims fellow Germany international Bastian Schweinsteiger would be an ideal signing for the club.

Schweinsteiger has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at Bayern Munich this season and Bremen coach Klaus Allofs has refused to rule out making a bid for the talented 23-year-old. Werder are set to lose Tim Borowski to the Allianz Arena at the end of the season and Allofs is keen to find a replacement to bolster his midfield.

Frings, who himself moved to Bremen from Munich in 2005 because he was finding it hard to break into the Bayern side, told the Bild newspaper: "We could really do with ´Schweini´. In Bremen he wouldn´t have the pressure like he has in Munich. Here he would be able to play more freely."
