Paul Le Guen admitted things were on the up at Paris St Germain after seeing his in-form side demolish Valenciennes 4-0 to reach the semi-finals of the Coupe de la Ligue.

PSG made it four wins on the spin in all competitions, despite playing with 10 men against VA for 84 minutes following the dismissal of centre-back Mario Yepes for a professional foul.

"I´m delighted to be in the semi-finals," said the former Lyon coach. "The players are more at ease on the pitch and that is allowing them to do better things. The relationship with the crowd is improving and that means a lot for the players."
