AZ Alkmaar bounced back from their weekend hammering at Ajax by registering a hard-fought 2-1 win at De Graafschap on Wednesday night.

Louis van Gaal´s men were woeful on Sunday, losing 6-1 to the Amsterdammers, but they showed admirable character to come from behind against De Graafschap to record their second away win of the season.

Lasse Schone put the hosts ahead after 29 minutes but David Mendes Da Silva equalised on the stroke of half-time. Moussa Dembele netted the winner for AZ five minutes into the second period.
