Football News
Willem II technical director Andries Jonker has revealed he approached PSV Eindhoven coach Sef Vergoossen while he was still working in Japan.

Jonker wanted Vergoossen to replace the sacked Dennis van Wijk, then in charge of Nagoya Grampus Eight, but the former Roda JC boss claimed he wanted to stay in Japan.

Vergoossen has since take over at PSV this month and Jonker admitted he had also been turned down by Sparta Rotterdam coach Foeke Booy and Kazakhstan boss Arno Pijpers.
