Utrecht fightback denies Heerenveen

Football News
Heerenveen missed the chance to go fifth in the Eredivisie standings on Sunday after squandering a two-goal lead in a 2-2 draw at FC Utrecht.

Danijel Pranjic fired Heerenveen into the lead inside the first minute after a howler by Utrecht goalkeeper Michel Vorm, while Michael Bradley popped up with a second just short of the half-hour mark.

Heerenveen controlled the game in the absence of striker Afonso Alves, who was left out due to ongoing speculation linking him with a move away from the club, but Gertjan Verbeek´s troops were powerless to prevent Utrecht´s spirited second-half fightback.
