Ryan Mallett training absence explained

Published 2 Comments

We begin in the NFL where Ryan Mallett’s mysterious absence from Houston Texans practice on Thursday has now been explained. According to reports, Mallett overslept yesterday and was held out as a result. Having lost out on the starting quarterback job to Bryan Hoyer on Monday his tardiness is unlikely to help him convince the team they made the wrong choice. Elsewhere in the league, the Buffalo Bills have announced that EJ Manuel will start at quarterback versus the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday. The decision has surprised many who believed the QB battle was now down to two, with Tyrod Taylor and Matt Cassel having started the previous two preseason games. Across to the NBA, and the league is today paying tribute to legendary dunker Darryl Dawkins who has sadly passed away at the age of 58. The former Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Nets star, who came to be known as Chocolate Thunder, suffered a heart attack according to his family.
