Manchester United defender Tyler Blackett could leave the club on loan before Tuesday's transfer deadline.

This has been reported by the Daily Mail, who claim that the quartet of West Brom, Celtic, Real Sociedad and Valencia all have an interest in the talented defender, who could now depart Old Trafford on a temporary basis.

Blackett, of course, entered the first-team scene under the guidance of Louis van Gaal last term, but has seemingly fallen down the pecking order of late in Manchester after the emergence of Daley Blind, who has moved into the heart of the club's defence.

It appears, then, that Blackett could move on sooner rather than later as he goes in search of regular first-team football.

In fact, with the same report from the Mail claiming that the 21-year-old could move to West Brom, he could follow Jonny Evans to the Baggies, with the Northen Irishman seemingly closing in on a move to Tony Pulis' side.

Ideal for United

There's no doubt about it, Blackett has a fine future ahead of him, but he's not quite ready to star at Old Trafford week in, week out. A temporary loan deal, then, appears to be the best thing for him, as he goes in search of improvement.

With Blind now looking the part at the heart of the club's defence, Red Devils chief Louis van Gaal will no doubt be pleased with his options in Manchester.

Chris Smalling, of course, is in the form of his life, while the duo of Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones are still to return, and the latter may well have a point to prove in this campaign.
