Barcelona superstar Neymar has insisted that he wants to make history throughout his playing career.

As reported by, Neymar, who was speaking at Nike's Tech Fleece Jacket launch, has insisted that he wants to achieve great success in the game on both a personal and team level.

The Brazilian superstar has, of course, been linked with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United in recent time, but it appears that he's determined to succeed at the Nou Camp for the foreseeable future.

"I want to make history. Regardless of what I will do, I hope it is a beautiful story with a lot of accomplishments that are not only personal, but also team-oriented as well," the 23-year-old told reporters at Nike's Tech Fleece Jacket launch.

"I don’t know what my biggest fear is. I always try to have no fear. I just try to do the right thing and be happy. Being happy on and off the pitch just happens naturally.

"It’s hard to talk about myself, but I think I´m a happy guy and my biggest passion is being with my family, my son, my friends - the people I love. I also try to always have fun, not only on the pitch, but also off it.

"My parents are my biggest sources of inspiration. They are people who I have always looked up to and have admired for all they’ve taught me. And obviously I´m still learning a lot from them.

"Off the pitch I’m not a guy who keeps thinking about the game 24 hours a day. I dress up and when it’s time to warm up for a game I just go, ask God to bless me and say, ‘let’s go'."

Waiting game

Let's be honest, the signing of Neymar would be an incredible one for the Red Devils, but there's no way it's going to happen anytime soon.

Ultimately, then, the Manchester United hierarchy may well have to play the waiting game before swooping for the forward. One day, perhaps, Neymar would consider a move to England's elite division, but he would be crazy to leave Barcelona behind right now.

It would be foolish to rule it out completely, though, so perhaps one day we will see Neymar lining up at Old Trafford.
