Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has taken to Twitter after watching the Gunners beat Newcastle United 1-0 at St James' Park earlier today.

The German international failed to feature against Steve McClaren's side after picking up a minor knee injury, however the former Real Madrid man was clearly in great spirits after the proceedings.

Arsenal, of course, beat 10-man Newcastle thanks to a deflected strike from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, as the Gunners managed to get back to winning ways after Monday's stalemate with rivals Liverpool.

Ozil, meanwhile, will be hoping to recover sooner rather than later, but it remains to be seen as to whether he will feature on the international scene for Germany in their upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against the duo of Poland and Scotland.

No doubt Arsenal fans will be hoping that the playmaker rests his knee ahead of a busy period for the club after the international break.

Arsenal will improve

There's no doubt about it, it's been a fairly mixed start to the season for the Gunner so far, but they will no doubt improve as the campaign goes on.

Of course, after a disappointing start on home soil, having secured just one point from their opening two games at the Emirates, it's crucial they step up sooner rather than later. But, points and goals will no doubt come for the club in north London.

The likes of Alexis Sanchez, Aaron Ramsey and, of course, Ozil will no doubt prove their credentials sooner rather than later. The Gunners certainly are in this season's title race, but must find consistency.
