Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is interested in a late swoop for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to Spanish journalist Kike Marin.
The Gunners have been linked with a host of striker targets, with Real Madrid's Karim Benzema believed to be Wenger's top target.
However the Frenchman has pledged his allegiance to the Spanish giants and won't move before the transfer window shuts, and now Arsenal are reportedly looking at alternatives with time running out ahead of today's 6pm deadline.

It's been reported this morning that Wenger is keen on a late swoop for Edinson Cavani, however Kike Marin claims he has a different target altogether.
The El Confidencial journalist tweeted over the weekend: "Wenger still looking for a 9 His first targets have failed and today has been INTERESTED in Higuain #Arsenal".
Arsenal fans have understandably received the claim well having grown desperate for a new striker this summer. One tweeted afterwards: "Cavani, Higuain are my favs for a big move to the prem today I expect to see at Least one of them at # Arsenal or # mufc at 24:00 # DeadIineDay".
Another added: "Wenger make a move !!!! Please world class striker Cavani Such as, higuain , etc ..."
However the north London club's chances of adding a top-level forward to replace Olivier Giroud appear slim. They were linked with a move for Higuain in 2013 but missed out to Napoli who would demand a huge fee for the Argentinian international.
Paris Saint-Germain publicly denied Cavani could be on the move when he was linked with a move to Manchester United.
