It´s been a difficult year for NEC

NEC Nijmegen coach Mario Been has branded his players "naive" and "arrogant" after they surrendered a two-goal lead in their Boxing Day encounter at home to VVV Venlo.

A brace of goals from Tim Janssen appeared to have set NEC on their way to a first win in six outings, but late strikes from Leon Kantelberg and Sandro Calabro salvaged a point for VVV to leave Been seething.

"Do I feel that the players abandoned me? That is such a big word," said Been. "There is no player that enters the field planning to let the match go just like that. Absolutely not."
