Internazionale defender Walter Samuel was unable to hide his disappointment on Tuesday when he returned to Buenos Aires with a knee injury that is expected to sideline him for six months.

The 29-year-old was given the all-clear by his club to return to his homeland to rest during the winter break after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in Sunday´s 2-1 derby win over AC Milan.

Samuel, who played for Argentina at the 2002 World Cup, told Argentinian reporters at the airport: "I could not enjoy the derby win because I was so angry. I hope I can successfully recover from this injury. However, I know I will not be playing for a long time."
