Valencia coach Ronald Koeman hailed his side´s fighting spirit after seeing them claw their way back from 2-0 down to earn a point from their final game of 2007 at Real Zaragoza.

Koeman must have feared the worst when his new-look Valencia side fell two goals down against Zaragoza inside 30 minutes, but half-time substitute Nikola Zigic pulled a goal back for Valencia - who had won just twice in nine matches since Koeman took charge last month - with 14 minutes to go and David Silva netted six minutes later to salvage a draw.

"It has been a very well-fought match for both teams. It could have been 3-2 or 2-3," said Koeman, who this week omitted Spain internationals Santiago Canizares, Miguel Angel Angulo and David Albelda from his squad.
