After another exciting weekend of football that was filled with goals and shock results here are the five players currently taking Europe's top leagues by storm.

5. Edinson Cavani

It has been a excellent start for PSG and Cavani finally got on the board in their biggest match this season. A 3-0 victory over rivals AS Monaco saw Cavani lead with a well taken brace. He opened the game with a headed finish and then fired home from an Ibrahimovic through ball. He had a chance for the hat trick late on but his header couldn't find the corner.

4. Nabil Fekir

Another player from Ligue 1 and this time it is the 22 year old Lyon playmaker Fekir. He continued his brilliant form from last season with a hat trick against Caen. All three were superb finishes in what was a comfortable victory for Lyon. The tricky midfielder will look to build on his form as his stock across Europe continues to rise.

3. Bafetimbi Gomis

With four goals in four games Gomis has started with a bang. He slipped in the winning goal in a fantastic victory for Swansea over Manchester United. Although Sergio Romero was probably at fault for the goal,Gomis looked a threat again for the fourth game running. If he can continue this goalscoring form there is no telling how far Swansea can go.

2. Andre Ayew

It is still early but at this point Swansea look like they have a real gem in Andre Ayew. Although never a star in Ligue 1 Ayew was considered a solid hard working player capable of getting the job done. He has proved that and more so far in the EPL and was wonderful again against United. He notched a goal and an assist that helped Swansea stay undefeated.

1. James Rodriguez

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. That is really all you can say about this Colombian magician. He was instrumental is Madrid's 5-0 win over Real Betis with two goals and an assist. He wrapped a brilliant tight angle free kick in off the post and added a stunning overhead kick in the second half. It was stunning performance from a player that just keeps getting better.
