Manchester United have confirmed that Liam Grimshaw and Kieran O’Hara completed loan moves to Motherwell and Morecambe on transfer deadline day.

Grimshaw will ply his trade at Fir Park until the end of the season while goalkeeper O'Hara has signed for Morecambe on a one-month youth loan as short-term cover for injured shotstopper Tony Thompson.

Neither of the duo have featured for the Manchester United first team before however Grimshaw was nominated for the club's U21 player of the year award last season.

"I’m looking forward to it and it’s a new experience for me,” Grimshaw told MFC TV. “First of all, I’ll be looking to get into the side and then I’ll be looking to play as many games as possible, and try to improve as a player.

“I’ve played a few positions for United, starting at centre-back then right-back but I prefer midfield. I like to get my foot in and pass the ball simply. I’ve watched a few games in Scotland and know it’s a good standard and I can’t wait to get playing.”

The moves cap a busy end to the transfer window for Manchester United. Young defender Tyler Blackett completed a loan move to Celtic while Javier Hernandez left Old Trafford to head to Bayer Leverkusen.

By far the biggest piece of business on Tuesday was the move for Anthony Martial however. The 19-year-old signed on the dotted line for the Red Devils in a deal that is initially worth £36 million but could rise to £58 million depending on add-ons.

Striker James Wilson didn't leave on loan as expected - however the deal could still happen if he is loaned out to a Championship club.
