A goal at either end of the match saw Lazio inch further away from the relegation zone as they secured a 2-0 victory over 10-man Catania.

A Tommaso Rocchi header put the Romans in front as early as the eighth minute and a brave Catania fightback was thwarted by Gionatha Spinesi´s pantomime villain act in the dying minutes as he was given his marching orders.

And a last-gasp goal from Goran Pandev secured an important three points for Lazio.
