Schalke general manager Andreas Muller has signed a contract extension to keep him at the club until 2010.

His previous deal was due to expire next summer, but the board of directors of the Royal Blues reached an early decision to extend his deal at their meeting on Monday.

"We are very happy with not only the content of his work, but also his substantial, competent manner," commented chairman Clemens Tonnies. "The team has developed well and, due to its structure, has great potential."
