Real Betis have sacked coach Hector Cuper after their 2-0 Primera Liga defeat at home to Atletico Madrid on Sunday.

Argentinian Cuper - who led Valencia to two Champions League finals - saw his Real team beaten by goals from former Manchester United forward Diego Forlan and Raul Garcia.

Second bottom Betis are struggling at the foot of the table after collecting just 11 points from 14 games, while the victory helped Atletico move up to fourth in the table.
