New Manchester United signing Anthony Martial has been tipped to captain the club one day - by his brother.

The 19-year-old joined the Red Devils in a record-breaking deal for a teenager worth an initial £36 million, which could in time rise to £58 million depending on add-ons.

The deadline day deal prompted more than a few raised eyebrows, with Arsene Wenger claiming that the move 'summed up' the madness of the summer transfer window.

Despite the sizeable fee Martial's brother Dorian believes his sibling will soon start proving that Manchester United spent their money wisely - and tipped him to wear the armband at Old Trafford one day.

"Anthony has all the qualities needed to be Manchester United and France captain,' Dorian told The Sun. 'He has always been a natural leader in a team — he's been like that since he was six.

"My little brother isn't someone who will shout at all the players around him. He doesn't need to because he speaks with his incredible skills.

"Anthony is a talisman and has the ego and personality on the pitch to be a captain of Manchester United and even France. Of course, not right now — because he is just 19 — but definitely in the future. He comes from a club that has produced two France captains.

Martial made his first appearance since completing his move to Manchester United, coming on with 15 minutes to go in France's 1-0 win over Portugal in Lisbon on Friday.

Dorian believes Martial will follow in the footsteps of both Patrice Evra and Thierry Henry, who went on to captain Manchester United and Arsenal respectively, because of the education all three received during their time with Monaco.

'Patrice Evra went on to be United skipper while Thierry Henry had the armband at Arsenal. It's in the DNA here because players are well educated. They're taught to be responsible but also respectful.
'The fee is a lot of money but Anthony will not worry. He doesn't know the meaning of the word "pressure".'
