Pierre-Paul’s return

New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is reportedly now ready to play, though his hand is still healing from an injury sustained during a fireworks accident on July 4.

According to reports Pierre-Paul convened with the Giants on Monday for a medical, having not met with the franchise since the aforementioned incident.

The rumour is now that he is in a condition to play, though the Giants will determine just how feasible that idea is given the limitations he currently has.

Dolphins re-sign Bowman

Elsewhere the Miami Dolphins made a somewhat surprising cut day move, re-signing veteran cornerback Zack Bowman.

Only on Sunday did the Dolphins cut Bowman, so to see him return to the fold within two days is quite the shock. That’s assuming it wasn’t a trick to get round the 54-man roster, with Bowman maybe always of the understanding that he’d be re-hired.

Parke’s Eurobasket record

Meanwhile in the NBA, Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs’ has become the all-time leading scorer in Eurobasket history.

Parker hit 16 points during France’s 69-66 win over Poland last night, allowing him to eclipse former Greece star Nikos Galis' record of 1,030 points. Parker now has 1,046 career points to his name.

Clippers woes

Elsewhere, it’s worrying times for the Los Angeles Clippers, who only recently appeared to get over the debacle forced upon them by Donald Sterling's racism storm.

It’s said there are some issues surrounding Gillian Zucker - the team’s president of business operations - and how she may be stepping on the toes of Doc Rivers. Click here for the full story.
