Hamburg begin coach search

Football News
Hamburg were on Tuesday beginning their search for a new coach following the shock announcement by Huub Stevens that he will not extend his contract next summer.

Stevens revealed on Monday he had accepted an offer to take over at PSV Eindhoven from July in order to be closer to his family in Holland, although he will continue to coach third-placed Bundesliga side Hamburg until the end of the season.

"We have six months notice, which makes it easier for us to find the right coach," said chairman Bernd Hoffmann. "Lying third in the league makes HSV a more attractive option than lying 17th."
