Stone Cold Steve Austin's podcast this week welcomed legendary tag team duo Edge and Christian onto the show, and, as you might expect, they had plenty to talk about.

From serenading the Texas Rattlesnake with the kazoo, to explaining how they first met, both veteran wrestlers brought some comedy to the show. But, alongside the jokes, the pair also opened up about their time in the WWE/WWF.

Discussing their role in the Tag Team division at a time when it was perhaps at its pinnacle, Edge even surprised listeners when revealing one significant difference between his and Christian's partnership when compared to their rivals of the period.

As reported by NoDq.com, Edge explained to Stone Cold that, unlike The Hardy Boyz (Matt and Jeff) or The Dudly Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von), he an Christian attended the all-important WWE creative meetings as a team.

Per NoDq's transcript of the interview:

"He [Edge] and Christian went to meetings as a duo, whereas Matt represented the Hardys, and Bubba represented The Dudleys. He said he wasn't trying to throw anyone under the bus, but that's how it was."

Considering the teamwork element of the tag team division, and the success that both The Dudleys and The Hardys had at the time, it may surprise some WWE fans to hear that those two legendary teams left all the backstage work to just one member.

Hearing that Edge and Christian attended together just backs up the idea that their strong bond was a major factor in what made them so popular during their '00s heyday.

Well remembered

Unlike the Dudley brothers however, who have recently made a return to the WWE's main roster, it doesn't look like older fans will be able to cheer on Edge and Christian anytime soon.

They both made clear to Austin in the interview that they simply want to be remembered as having had entertaining matches, with no suggestion that any sort of comeback was on the cards.
