Football News
Chris Coleman has revealed he was all set to quit as coach of Real Sociedad following the resignation of president Maria de la Pena.

The Welshman was ultimately persuaded to stay on by the remaining Sociedad board members, but his long-term future at the Basque club still remains in doubt, with board elections called for January 3.

De la Pena stepped down on Wednesday night and Coleman said on Thursday: "(On Wednesday night) I spoke with the directors at the Anoeta. After the information I received that Maria would finish, I say ´ok, for me, I finish´ because my loyalty is with Maria and directors. The directors said ´No, stay. We want you to stay, continue to work, it is very important´."
