Floyd Mayweather has defended his decision to choose Andre Berto as his 49th, and potentially final, opponent, saying that the American is just as good as Amir Khan. Mayweather faces Berto this Saturday in what might be his final bout, having snubbed the chance to choose England’s Khan instead // In tennis Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka will face off in the semi-finals of the US Open, having both secured straight sets victories in the previous round. Federer is looking for an 18th Grand Slam title, with Novak Djokovic facing Marin Cilic in the other semi-final. Lewis Hamilton has admitted he doesn’t think former team McLaren will be a threat in 2016, stating he felt bad to see them struggling. Hamilton left McLaren in 2012, but they’ve since tumbled down the rankings // Lastly across to athletics and Mo Farah has admitted he has taken the banned substance Khat, but only before it was prohibited.
