Goalkeeper Victor Valdes preferred to share the plaudits around after setting a new Barcelona record for minutes without conceding in European competition during Wednesday´s clash with Rangers.

A clean sheet in the 2-0 Champions League victory at the Nou Camp means Valdes has now gone 466 minutes in Europe without being beaten, beating the club record of 406 minutes set by Pere Valenti Mora over 30 years ago.

Valdes said: "It is an important landmark but it is recognition for all the defence. I went a long time in the 2005-06 campaign without conceding but I don´t want to make too much fuss about this. It will remain just a statistic until we qualify from the group and, hopefully, win back the Champions League."
