WWE fear Kurt Angle would die under contract if re-signed

Football News

As you might expect, the news that Kurt Angle will be leaving TNA at the end of 2015 has led to speculation that he could ultimately return to the WWE in the future.

Even with the wrestling legend explaining that he plans to take time out from the business there are many within the WWE Universe hoping that he and the WWE can now come to agreement with TNA seemingly out of the picture.

Shocking concern

Unfortunately for those fans though, NoDq.com is reporting that there is virtually no chance that the WWE will change their mind on a Kurt Angle return. And the reason why is pretty shocking.

According to the online wrestling publication:

"It is said that the company is hesitant on signing Angle because WWE doesn't want an Olympic gold medalist dying while under contract to them."

The report goes on to suggest that the WWE fear the negative backlash such a tragic event would have on the organization as a whole.

Health fears

Considering Kurt Angle has been wrestling at high-octane pace in TNA for over a decade now without any signs of serious healthy problems, those concerns may appear ill-judged and foolish.

However, the same NoDq story asserts that it is Angle's history with pain killers and alcohol abuse that worries the WWE hierarchy.

There have been a number of incidents over the past five years in which Angle has been accused of abusing prescription drugs, and he has four previous arrests for driving under the influence.
