Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has ruled Brazilian playmaker Oscar out of tomorrow's Premier League clash with Everton.

The Blues head to Merseyside in desperate need of all three points after a disappointing start to the campaign, however they will have to do it without 24-year-old Oscar, who could return in time for the club's Champions League opener with Israeli outfit Maccabi Tel Aviv on Wednesday.

The west London outfit have just four points from their opening four fixtures in England's elite division so far this term, so they could do with securing a positive result at Goodison Park tomorrow lunchtime.

Mourinho's side, of course, were beaten at the hands of Crystal Palace on home soil before the international break, so they will be looking to make amends sooner rather than later.

However, with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois set for a long time out on the sidelines, it won't be easy for the club to get back on track.

Stability needed

Let's be honest, Chelsea were rightly crowned Premier League champions last season as they produced the goods on a consistent basis.

It must be noted, however, that things very much went the club's way throughout the course of the campaign. Diego Costa, of course, endured a tricky time on the injury scene throughout the latter stages of the season, but Mourinho's team selection stayed relatively consistent.

Now, though, the club appear to be struggling. Mourinho's best players are failing to hit top form and maintain their fitness, and it's costing his side. Of course, there's an extremely long way to go in the Premier League title race, but the Blues are in need of some stability.
