Another defeat for AC Milan and more unorthodox behaviour from Sampdoria striker Antonio Cassano were features of Sunday´s Serie A programme in Italy.

Milan´s 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Roma leaves them 11 points off the pace - a miserable record for the European champions who have won only two of their opening nine fixtures. Montenegro international Mirko Vucinic scored the only goal for the Eternal City club in the second half.

Meanwhile, in Catania it was Cassano who made the headlines with his bizarre early departure in a match where Samp lost 2-0 to the hosts with goals from Giuseppe Mascara and Jorge Martinez.
