GARGANO AND CIAMPA IN ACTION
In the first match of the evening, Apollo Crews takes on Johnny Gargano. Crews picks up the victory, hitting Gargano with the press slam followed by the standing moonsault to continue his impressive start on NXT.
Dana Brooke and Emma are in tag team action, as they pick up the victory over the team of Peyton Royce and Billie Kay.
Tommaso Ciampa is in singles action next, taking on Tyler Breeze.
Reports suggest this was an entertaining and lengthy match with Ciampa looking very impressive.
It is Breeze who ends up picking up the victory hitting the Unprettier for the three count.
FAN FAVOURITE MAIN EVENT
In the main event the Dusty Rhodes tag team classic tournament continues, with fans torn as to who to cheer for.
On one side we have NXT Champion Finn Balor teaming up with Samoa Joe, as they take on the always-entertaining Enzo Amore and Big Cass.
It doesn’t really make sense for Balor to compete for the titles as he’s holding the biggest title on NXT whilst Enzo and Big Cass could do with a huge win under their belts.
Nevertheless, Balor and Joe pick up the victory.
Samoa Joe hit the Musclebuster which Balor followed up with the Coup de Grace to take the win.
With the tapings now in the books, it remains to be seen what else happens in the build-up to TakeOver.
Now it’s clear that the matches announced will mainly be done through social media which has proven to be a success in the past.
Sasha Banks and Bayley will headline the event in a 30 minute Ironwoman match for the NXT Women’s Championship.
This means there’s a chance Balor won’t defend the NXT Championship.
Other impressive stars should also compete on October 7. Crews and Dillinger should play a part whilst we could also expect Dempsey to take on Breeze.
It would also be fantastic to see Asuka in action, as well as Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa.
There’s a lot of potential for this card, let’s hope some great match-ups are announced in the coming weeks.
