Jose Mourinho dropped Chelsea striker Diego Costa from the club's 1-1 draw with Liverpool last season after the Spanish international took an extra day off following the Blues' Premier League title triumph.

As reported by the Daily Mail, it has been claimed that Costa flew to Madrid to party after the Portuguese tactician handed his side four days off at the back end of last season.

In fact, the report goes on to claim that Mourinho remains frustrated with Costa, who is struggling to find form for the west London outfit this term.

The former Atletico Madrid forward has found the back of the net on just one occasion throughout the course of the campaign so far. And it appears that Mourinho has grown frustrated with the striker, who has also struggled on the injury scene for some time now.

Costa, of course, failed to shine once again this past weekend as the Blues suffered their third Premier League defeat of the season at the hands of Everton.

Jose in need

There's no getting away from the fact that Chelsea's start to the season has been abysmal. Costa isn't the only Chelsea player struggling right now. Ultimately, the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard must step up in west London sooner rather than later.

Of late, Costa has appeared an isolated and frustrated figure in attack for the Blues, and Mourinho must find a way of getting the best out of the 26-year-old.

With the Blues set to play host to rivals Arsenal this weekend, it's crucial that the Special One manages to get his best players back on side. Costa needs to find that magic touch in the immediate future if the Blues are to have any chance of retaining their Premier League title.
