Steven Gerrard’s new book ‘My Story’ is currently being serialised by the Daily Mail, and there’s plenty for Liverpool fans to get stuck into. One tale sure to strike a chord with the Anfield faithful is Gerrard recounting how he tried to get both Toni Kroos and Willian to sign for the Reds, after being asked to do so by Brendan Rodgers. With Willian, Gerrard claims a failure to guarantee Champions League football was what cost Liverpool, whilst with Real Madrid star Kroos the former England captain has admitted his club never really had a chance. In his words ‘God loves a trier’. Moving on, and it’s only right we stick with Gerrard’s revelations, because, well, they’re far too juicy not too. The LA Galaxy man has also revealed he has no respect for former teammate El-Hadji Diouf, who he says fans often compare with Mario Balotelli. Gerrard said he has respect for Balotelli, not not the man who came before him.
