Panathinaikos coach Jose Peseiro is "convinced" his team have what it takes to beat Aberdeen in Thursday´s UEFA Cup clash in Athens.

The Greek giants welcome their Scottish opponents to the Apostolos Nikolaidis stadium for what is expected to be a closely-contested Group B opener, but despite Aberdeen´s impressive victory over Ukrainian outfit Dnipro in the first round, the Portuguese coach is confident he has done his homework on Jimmy Calderwood´s men.

"Naturally we are well prepared for this game, we have the essential information that we need about Aberdeen and we have watched them in games against Celtic and Inverness," said Peseiro in his pre-match press conference. "Aberdeen are a dangerous team which likes to play football and not just long balls. I am convinced we will win though."
