When most of the WWE Universe heard the news that Lana would be out of action for the best part of four months following a wrist injury, the immediate reaction was one of disappointment.

The frustration was due not to Lana's immense role as a budding wrestler or key cog in the WWE machine, but because her absence effectively leaves the Dolph Ziggler-Rusev feud with even less going for it than it already had.

That hasn't stopped one of those Superstars taking their opportunity to mock Lana this weekend in a video posted on the WWE Universe's official Twitter account.

Rusev, likely in a last-ditch attempt to keep the bad blood going with his ex-partner, took time out of his preparations for a WWE live event down in Huntsville, Alabama to ridicule Lana:

Ongoing drama

Recently, there has been some suspicion that Lana's injury isn't as legitimate as first thought, but, despite Rusev mocking tone, there seems little doubt that she will be away from the action for some considerable time.

Indeed, with the Rusev-Ziggler feud hingeing on the latter's recent hook-up with Lana, a kayfabe injury for Lana would make little sense from a creative point of view.

The latest update from Lana herself also ties into the feud, with the female star tweeting out a picture of some flowers she has supposedly received from Summer Rae- another sign WWE are desperate to keep the drama alive outside the ring:
