WWE drop big hint about potential Trish Stratus return

The Divas Revolution has hit something of a bump in the road as of late with the WWE Universe not entirely convinced that WWE know what they are doing with their female talent.

Nikki Bella has equalled AJ Lee's longest reigning Divas Championship reign today and if she retains the championship tonight in a match against Charlotte, then tomorrow she will break the record.

Many think this is a bad idea because Nikki hasn't defended the Championship a lot since she has been champion and hasn't defended it now since the triple threat match between herself, Tamina and Paige at Beast in the East on July 4th.

WWE tweeted the following teaser this morning as a hint that the WWE Hall of Famer could be set to return and be a part of the current programme.

Trish Stratus retired from WWE on the 17th September 2006 in her hometown of Toronto Canada at WWE's Unforgiven pay-per-view where she defeated Lita to win her record 7th Women's Championship before vacating it the next day.

That was almost nine years ago and since then Trish has returned as both a guest host and tag team partner but only for one-off matches.

The former Women's Champion has been teasing a return for the past few weeks by asking fans to vote who should join Team Bestie (Trish and Lita) and become a part of the Divas Revolution.

It is the Divas Championship match to end all matches tonight and if WWE want to tease a return for Trish then it needs to happen either tonight during the title match or Sunday night at Night of Champions.

If Nikki retains tonight then she has no challenger heading into Night of Champions in six days time, but if Charlotte wins then Nikki will cash in her rematch clause.

It would be an amazing statement if Trish or Lita or even Mickie James, who was the one who fans voted to join Team Bestie, came out and cost Nikki her Championship just to prove that they were the best of the best.

To have the best of the last generation facing off against the best of the next generation would be one of the greatest things WWE could plan for the current crop of divas and it would be a fantastic way to bring the excitement back to the Divas revolution.

Would you be happy to see Trish return? Could she save the Divas Revolution? Have you say in the comments section below...
