Tonight was the season premiere of RAW and it was billed as a big night with two title matches and the first ever match on RAW for the Vigilante Sting.

While it was pretty obvious that the New Day would retain their Tag Team Titles,  the second title match did attract a lot of focus.

It was the Diva's Championship match between Nikki Bella and Charlotte with a win for Bella meaning she would break AJ Lee's record as longest reigning champion.

It has been obvious for several months now that the WWE were basically handing Bella the record and the fans have become increasingly angered by the situation.

With Bella not even defending her title at the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania or Summer Slam, she is widely regarded as a bad champion.

Nevertheless, she entered tonight's match with the fans wondering what they see at the end and the WWE certainly took a brave approach.

Rather than have Stephanie restart the match - which incidentally happened later in the show when Seth Rollins interfered in Sting's match, the WWE took the result as confirmation of Bella capturing the record.

Bella will now defend her title against Charlotte once again on Sunday night at Night of Champions where it is a good bet that she will finally lose the title.

Angry fans

A simple Twitter search for the hashtag that WWE assigned to the match would return a list of tweets showing the displeasure of the WWE fans.

Needless to say, the WWE have a long way to go to once again resurrect the Diva's division and save their title.
