Football News
England number two Terry Venables has urged the Football Association not to cut short Steve McClaren´s reign as manager.

McClaren´s position has come under heavy scrutiny since the loss to Russia on Wednesday, which left England in danger of failing to qualify for Euro 2008.

But Venables told The Sun: "I understand that if we don´t qualify there will be a feeling that it is time for a change. But there is also a need for common sense and someone has to say ´yes´ or ´no´ to what we are doing."
