Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has been slapped with a 35,000 euro (£24,000) fine by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) for his bust-up with Serbia player Ivica Dragutinovic.

Scolari lashed out at Dragutinovic in the 1-1 draw between the nations and has already earned a touchline ban from UEFA that has ruled him out of three of Portugal´s last four Euro 2008 qualifiers.

A FPF statement issued in the name of its president Gilberto Madail read: "The unfortunate gesture of the national team coach - even if instinctive and with all the attenuating circumstances that Luiz Felipe Scolari has sought to explain - and which were recognised by UEFA, was a serious error and should not have happened, both for his (Scolari) image and that of the FPF."
