Van Basten defends Holland attitude

Holland coach Marco van Basten and goalscorer Wesley Sneijder understood the fans´ discontent during the 2-0 Euro 2008 Group G win over Slovenia on Wednesday night.

The Oranje team was hissed at throughout the 90 minutes and at the conclusion of the match at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven which leaves them requiring one win from the matches against Luxembourg and Belarus to qualify for next summer´s finals.

"It went from bad to worse in the second half," Van Basten said. "We did not please the audience, but our intentions were good. You could see that, too, looking at our attacking line-up."
