Germany goalkeeper Jens Lehmann answered his critics with a "flawless" performance as Germany qualified for Euro 2008 with three games of their qualifying campaign still remaining.

The Arsenal goalkeeper had been placed under pressure to perform after being dropped from the Arsenal first team, and came up with the perfect response in goalless draw against Ireland at Croke Park.

"Jens was flawless and he was a solid backbone," said Germany coach Joachim Low. "The way he dominated his area was excellent and he picked up a few balls for us off the line."
