Holland coach Marco van Basten claimed "the luckiest team won" after his side were beaten 1-0 in Romania.

The Oranje are three points behind their opponents at the top of Euro Qualifying Group G after suffering defeat in miserable conditions in the harbour city of Constanta. Van Basten conceded his side had failed to cope with the strong winds and heavy rain.

He said: "Especially in the second half we did a bad job. All in all it was a mediocre game in which the luckiest side won. In the second half we had the wind in our back and you expected to see us put pressure on Romania, and pin them back in their own half. That did not happen."
