Tamudo inspires Spain win

Football News
Raul Tamudo enjoyed a fairytale return to international action on Saturday to help Spain take a giant step towards the finals of Euro 2008 with a 3-1 win and leave Denmark facing heartbreak.

Tamudo, whose last appearance for his country came over two years ago, was only involved due to injuries to first-choice strikers David Villa and Fernando Torres during the last week.

However, the Espanyol captain - starting up front on his own - responded in style, scoring Spain´s opener and then setting up Sergio Ramos for his side´s second just before half-time. Denmark pulled a goal back in the 87th minute through Jon Dahl Tomasson, but Albert Riera´s superb debut goal soon after earned Spain the spoils in Aarhus.
