Van Gaal reveals Luke Shaw did this after breaking his leg

Published Add your comment

The harrowing images of Luke Shaw’s leg-break last night tell a sombre story, and Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has revealed just how much the ordeal affected the 20-year-old. Van Gaal told how Shaw cried when he returned to the dressing room, and insisted that perhaps Hector Moreno should have been given his marching orders after the challenge. The Dutchman said Shaw will undergo surgery in the next few days, but he isn’t expecting the full-back to be back in time to play another Champions League group game. Moving on, and Ashley Young has revealed he believes he can play up front for United if given the chance. With Wayne Rooney out and Van Gaal not boasting an abundance of options, the winger’s words might carry some weight, though there’s sure to be fans up and down the country doubting whether or not he’d be effective.
